Before performing at Benicassim festival, Noel Gallagher released an interview to the Spanish site Jenesaispop.
He talked about what he thinks of still being the NME headlines and he said “I don’t read the NME if that’s what you mean, You see, journalists are not that good. If my stories or whatever I say appears on most NME articles or newspapers, maybe it’s because I’m one of the very few people who have something to say”.
Speaking about the Oasis times and the Band Battle he declared: “I never took that seriously. I was never a huge Blur fan. I like some of their tunes now but that rivalry doesn’t mean anything to me”.
He admitted that he was surprised knowing that Marr (who announced that “I’d work with Noel”) liked his former band, he added “Maybe when Johnny Marr loved us even when we were shit. Neil Young says he likes my songs. I almost died when I heard that”.
Finally Noel said, as already anticipated here, he is working on his third solo album: “Yes! I’m working on it already. I’m still working on the first tracks on the album but it sounds good. Musically, I can’t say much about it because it’s still at a very early stage”.
