How Liam Gallagher tried to persuade Sir Paul to play on an Oasis song

Liam Gallagher revealed how he tried to persuade Sir Paul to play in one of Oasis tracks.

As we already know, he never hided his love for The Beatles.

In 2005 Oasis were one of the Britain’s most succesful band.

But Liam Gallagher never met Sir Paul before the recordings of Oasis‘ ‘Don’t Believe The Truth’.

Speaking with BBC 6 Music, he recalls the time when they were both in Los Angeles to record their album.

Zac Starkey was the drummer of the band and Sir Paul decided to pay a visit during the recordings.

“Zac was playing with us, so he’s come in to see Zac, and we had a photograph with him,”

“Then we were doing some kind of bass, I think it was on one of my songs called ‘Boy With The Blues’, and he was going, ‘Ah the bass, it’s not too great’,” .

“I was like you’re next door, why don’t you go there and put your bass on it, and he was like, ‘Nah’, he wriggled out of it, you know what I mean?”.

Considering the poor success of the track, a collaboration between Oasis and McCartney would have been an injustice that reflected poorly on both artists.
