Liam Gallagher left Brit Awards viewers in tears as he paid a heartbreaking tribute to the 22 victims of last year’s Manchester terror attacks.

The iconic Mancunian was drafted in last minute to replace Ariana Grande, after ill-health meant that she was banned from flying back over to the UK and perform.

Agreeing to take her place, Liam sang the Oasis track Live Forever, in honour of those who lost their lives during Ariana’s concert in May of last year.

As a mark of respect, the pictures of those who died were screened above Liam as he performed.

The show ended with an on-screen announcement saying that the ceremony was dedicated to them.

The moment became one of the defining performances of the evening, and fans flocked to Twitter to thank Liam for the last minute reprieve, and to praise him for the emotional song choice.
