In a recent interview on Roma’s official club website, famous midfielder Daniele De Rossi was asked about his favourite music, football players and travel destinations.
De Rossi once again confirmed his love for Oasis and the Gallagher brothers.
“I know all the Oasis songs off by heart, as I grew up listening to them. I liked them as people, they were not always conventional or easy to approach, but this was the stereotype they represented – rock stars off their heads – that I really liked” said Daniele.
“There was a lot of talk about me going to Manchester City a few years ago and I never wanted to leave Roma, but the thing that fascinated me about that situation was getting to meet the Gallagher brothers.”
When asked about who his personal football legend was, he spoke about former Manchester United star Roy Keane.
“Keane is my absolute hero. The 16 on my shirt is, along with the birthday of my daughter Gaia, dedicated to him.”
“He is the only person in the world I asked for a photo with, two years ago. I was too embarassed to ask Diego Maradona, but with Keane I couldn’t resist” De Rossi said.
He cited Eric Cantona and Roberto Baggio, too.
De Rossi then spoke about his favorite travel destinatios.
“I put Glasgow in the top three, as representative of the Celtic culture, which I love. I saw it with the Nazionale, albeit for a brief spell. Between the stadium and the hotel I experienced only a few bits of the city, but it remained in my mind”.
He also recounted his trips in New York and Istanbul: “These are places I’d really like to go back to so I can get deeper into them, as they deserve”, he said.
“I did visit Istanbul as a tourist and in four days I had all the time to wander round in my own way. It’s fascinating, in every sense. A different culture to ours, great architecture and so much history.”
