The Gallaghers’ sibling rivalry has been kicked off once again as Liam has scored himself a Brit nomination while Noel has been snubbed.
At last night’s The Brits Are Coming it was announced Liam Gallagher is up for British Male Solo Artist at the awards on 21 February, and of course Liam was reveling in his success over his older brother. At first he posted a gracious tweet, grateful for the nomination: ‘So I hear I’ve been nominated for british male solo artist at the Brits this year “YOU GOTTA BE IN IT TO WIN IT”as you were LG x’ .
But then quickly threw shade at Noel, calling him a ‘creep’ once again and saying it would be a shame he wouldn’t have the opportunity to lord it over him at the ceremony: ‘So the creepy 1 gets blanked at the Brits oh well was looking forward to hurling abuse at him and his poshos from across the room LG x.’
Suddenly it feels like such a shame Noel might not be there for us to see this in person.
Liam shouldn’t count his chickens yet, he’s got tough competition for that category. He’s up against Ed Sheeran, Loyle Carner, Rag’n’Bone Man and Stormzy. Having said that, he’s not exactly new to a Brits win, and can easily shake off his rivals having had six wins and 17 nominations as part of Oasis. Although it is his first solo nod.
