Liam Gallagher said he and Noel won’t do Oasis interviews because they’re “scared of the media asking us intrusive questions.”
Liam Gallagher stated that he and Noel have no plans for Oasis interviews. They’re “scared of the media asking us intrusive questions and trying to damage their relationship.”
The brothers, who formed Oasis in the early ’90s and split in 2009, recently reconciled and announced their reunion in August. Although no new music plans are confirmed, they’ve scheduled numerous gigs in the UK, Ireland, Australia, the US, and Mexico.
When announcing the UK dates, the brothers informed fans these would be their only European shows. They also confirmed no festival appearances next year.
Now, Liam has said they don’t plan to do any joint interviews because they’re “scared” of personal questions and the media’s potential attempts to damage their relationship.
The Britpop icon shared the update on X/Twitter this morning (October 10). He responded to a fan who posted:
“Fans, we must acknowledge that Liam and Noel’s relationship > Oasis as a band. Their relationship faced years of estrangement, and we must note that the media contributed to their tensions.”
In reply, Liam wrote “RESPEK” and added:
“We don’t want interviews because we’re scared of intrusive questions and the media trying to damage our relationship.”
He also told another fan questioning a joint interview with Noel that he “can’t be arsed” to do one.
While no joint interviews are confirmed, and it seems unlikely soon, both have spoken about their relationship in separate public appearances.
Liam, for example, has often engaged with fans on social media about his relationship with his brother.
