Liam Gallagher has joined the line-up for tonight’s BRIT Awards at the last minute, as part of a tribute to the victims of last year’s Manchester bombings.
22 people were killed in May last year when suicide bomber Salman Abedi blew himself up in the foyer of Manchester Arena as fans left a concert by American singer Ariana Grande.
Grande was initially scheduled to perform in the tribute, but – as The Mirror report – was forced to cancel at the last-minute. Gallagher was quickly snapped up at the replacement. A source said: “Liam has saved the day by stepping in at the last minute. It’s a perfect choice. It’s going to be the moment of the evening.”
