Oasis are reported to be in talks for an epic live album of their sold-out gigs at Heaton Park or Wembley.
Insiders revealed that brothers Liam and Noel Gallagher will be offered a chance to record a live album to celebrate Oasis Live ’25.
Those close to them believe they will accept the offer, immortalizing their comeback.
A source stated:
“The Oasis reunion is a historic moment, and these concerts will be talked about for decades. Many around the brothers think they must capture the shows.”
Homecoming Shows
“A live album of the Oasis reunion could be as iconic as The Who’s Live At Leeds in 1970 or Queen’s Live At Wembley ’86. It would capture the rock ’n’ roll magic that happens when Noel and Liam are on stage together.”
“By the time they perform next summer, it will have been 16 years since they last played together. The sound will have evolved, and that is special.”
Recording at Heaton Park or Wembley makes sense. Heaton will be their homecoming in Manchester, and Wembley is one of the world’s most famous venues.
“The concerts are still a long way off, and Oasis is focused on those shows. But Noel and Liam would be crazy not to record their reunion as a live album.”
Oasis released two live records during their peak.
Familiar To Millions came out in November 2000, four months after Oasis’ two massive Wembley shows that summer. It sold over a million copies.
Knebworth 1996, recorded during two shows at the Hertfordshire venue, was released in September 2021 and reached No. 4 on the album chart.
Considering how much the Oasis reunion means to fans, I believe the proposed album would go straight to the top spot.
