Oasis set to announce US tour dates next Friday

Oasis are set to announce more reunion tour dates in the US next Friday September 27th.

This follows the announcement of reunion shows in the UK and Ireland next summer. The brothers were criticized for their “dynamic pricing” ticket policy.

The band will likely perform in New York, Los Angeles, Chicago, and Boston.

A source said: Noel and Liam will announce their US shows on Friday.”

“It will be a few huge dates in major cities. British fans living in New York and Los Angeles should have a good chance of getting tickets.”

Oasis aim to avoid issues seen during ticket sales for their UK shows. However, they expect the same high demand seen previously.

Oasis sold out seven nights at Wembley, plus shows in Cardiff, Manchester, Edinburgh, and Dublin.

US fans have begged the brothers to tour in the States. Despite never reaching the same success in the US, their fans remain hopeful.

A billboard in New York’s Times Square had an Amazon Music ad featuring Noel and Liam.

It stated: “If a billboard is needed to bring these guys to the US, here it is.”

More than ten million fans from 158 countries attempted to get tickets to the initial shows.

Millions were disappointed, and those who got tickets were upset by price increases during the long online queues.

The Competition and Markets Authority has started an investigation into ticket seller Ticketmaster.

Noel last performed in the US with Oasis during the Dig Out Your Soul tour. He believes the band’s lack of success in the US is due to them “not caring.”

They never had a No. 1 album in the US before their split in 2009. Their 1997 album Be Here Now reached No. 2, and 1995’s Wonderwall was the only single to break into the top 15.

Manchester-born Noel said last year: “Americans couldn’t accept that we didn’t care about anything.”

“I think that’s why we never had a No. 1 album in the US. They didn’t go the extra mile because we didn’t either.”

“We’ve never been nominated for a Grammy because you need to play the game there, and we couldn’t.”
